Abhay Singh, widely known as "IIT Baba"

Abhay Singh, widely known as "IIT Baba," is a former aerospace engineer from IIT Bombay who transitioned into a spiritual path. Born in Haryana, India, he excelled academically, securing 93% in his 10th-grade exams and 92.4% in his 12th-grade exams. In 2008, he achieved an All India Rank of 731 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and pursued aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay. After graduation, he worked in Canada with an annual salary of ₹36 lakh. Despite his professional success, Singh felt unfulfilled and chose to leave his career to seek spiritual enlightenment.

His journey into spirituality gained public attention during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, where he was dubbed the "IITian Baba." However, during the event, allegations of misconduct arose, including accusations of using abusive language towards his guru, Mahant Someshwar Puri. These actions were deemed violations of the sacred guru-shishya (master-disciple) tradition, leading to his expulsion from the Juna Akhara.

Following his expulsion, Singh faced significant public scrutiny. He denied the allegations, claiming that false rumors were being spread about him. Additionally, he faced ridicule on social media after a failed prediction regarding an India-Pakistan cricket match during the Champions Trophy 2025, where he had predicted India's defeat, but India won by six wickets.
